Our First Non-Family Birthday Party

Saturday, December 17, 2016

My friend Sara (as opposed to my family members who are stuck with me) invited us to Harrison’s birthday party.  Harrison just turned 4 and LOVES Curious George.  Sara and Harrison wore Curious George t-shirts, and Selah June tried to scare everybody by grinning and saying Boo!  She loves Boofest.

The party was at Chucky Cheese….our first real foray into that crazy land. Selah June loved the tokens, but she quickly learned that the machines didn’t give them back. She also liked the tickets and held on to her cup of tokens and all her tickets the whole time.  I offered to help carry them, but she wasn’t about to let go of them.

She went down the big slide and loved it, but I had to help her up the staggered steps.  The other kids kept telling me I was too big for it.  (Thanks, kid…)

She also liked skeeball, but she had a special way of doing things.

She wouldn’t let me help at all. You can see her cup of tokens and tickets.img_8106

This machine was particularly useful for laying out your tickets and tokens.img_8107

It was really a lot to take in for a 2-year-old (not to mention a 39-year-old).img_8110

We spilled all our stuff and had to take a break to pick it up.img_8111

We love pizza!! (But it does not love us, so “pizza” is sans cheese.img_8113
