We decided to be a fashion plate on Tuesday. Do you ever really need a reason to dress like a princess?
Of course the bow didn’t make it back to my house. They never do…

This is what I see every morning when a little stinker wakes up. She is definitely happiest first thing in the morning, and it’s always a great joke to her when we discover her awake in her room just hanging out.
I wish I could just soak up this ray of sunshine all day every day. It’s liquid gold.

The family decided to celebrate all the adult birthdays in April with one big party. We spent the bulk of Sunday with each other sans most kids, and it was really a lot of fun. We laughed about Jess’ black guardian angel with dreads. We played an awesome round of the “Oldywed Game.” Ab revealed that she thinks 42 is going to be a really great year for Brock. And we ate ourselves sick on Brazilian BBQ, pizza buffet, and multiple cakes.
Meanwhile, SJ had a playdate with Tim and Kom. She wore her prettiest little pink outfit – with a hat and everything! I couldn’t help but take tons of pictures.

Most mornings, Selah June gets up at about 7:00, has a bottle and snuggles with Mom, and is back down by 8:00. I have to be at Grammy’s house by 9:30 usually, so that I can be at work for a reasonable portion of the day. I treasure that hour. I kiss those cheeks as much as I possibly can, and I caress that head and those hands without ceasing. I want her to know that though I’m not with her for part of the day — unfortunately some parts when she’s awake and having fun — I love her and think about her always.
The morning light makes this time of day seem even more special and sacred. I wish I could just bottle it so that it would last forever.

Daddy is in trouble. He brought this cute little dress from Janie and Jack back from a trip to Orlando. He thought it would look super cute on Miss Selah June. And guess what!?? It does. Oh my… I can already see the problems he’s going to face when the boys starting knocking at the door.
I couldn’t pick just one. The lighting was good. The colors were great. And her personality is priceless!
We have really been getting some good use out of the exersaucer. Not only do her feet touch the floor, but she’s now pretty much able to sit up on her own. The combination of solid footing and a strong torso means trouble. She’s zipping across the kitchen like nobody’s business. I have to constantly stay three steps ahead of her to move dog bowls and chew toys out of the way. just wait until she discovers that she can leave the kitchen!
These are weeks late, but I’ve hit up against the end of the spring semester. Things have gotten a little crazy. I did my best to get some good pics of Selah June in her first Easter dress, but the lighting was a little harsh. Oh well. I think she’s beautiful no matter the lighting…
This was the only dress for which I registered. Ann Royappa bought it for her in size 6 mo. It was perfect for Easter, and we might even get a few more wears out of it by summer’s end.
