A Simple Sunday

Sunday, February 26, 2017

This little monkey wanted to wear pants with pockets and flip flops this morning.

For the first time that I can remember she talked about going to her Sunday School class when we pulled into the parking lot.

And after church, she wanted her window down too – just like Mommy. The wind in her face made her incredibly happy all the way to Sonny’s where we had lunch with Grammy and Grandpa.

And after nap we took a family trip to Publix. These two found lots of special treats that somehow made their way into our cart…

Toy Room R&R

SJ wanted all of us to spend time with her playing in her toy room. We had a picnic and built a tower. We watched some Paw Patrol , and she lazed around on her Paw Patrol bed.

At some point she found her dog, and then she pulled him around for a while, telling us to “come on!”

Bastian’s Birthday!!!!

Saturday, February 25, 2017

Satie and Heidi took her everywhere and kept their eyes on her like little mommas.

She fell in love with this blue angel plane.

Sebastian Jones had corn dogs for his party, and this little crazy kid ate THREE of them!!!!!!

Can you tell who is having a birthday from this pic?

SJ was content to get all the bows from the presents. We were worried because for a week she’s been talking about it being her birthday.

Another corndog…

In Other News

The other thing that happened this week is that I slipped on the ceramic tile floor on Tuesday when it was raining outside.

I fell on both knees. It hurt really badly, but I didn’t break anything…

Belated Valentines

Tuesday, February 21, 2017

When we finally back to school on Monday, there were lots of valentines from all the other kids for Selah Junebug.

We had a great time opening every little package and eating bites of pretzels, fruit gummies, and goldfish.

There were no  chalky little hearts with “be mine” or “kiss.”

My air fryer came in the mail, and SJ had a blast with it. She took her blanky and her snacks and made herself a little box fort. I told her to stick her finger out the opening so I could tell she was in there.

Jail Break!!!

Sunday, February 19, 2017

This is my sunflower. She needed some rays. Too many days stuck inside had led to a little bit of the crabbycakes. All of us were afflicted.

After her nap on Sunday, we caught the last bit of sunlight at the Chemstrand park, and then we met Grammy and Grandpa at Rio Bravo. Eating out was a bad idea. She was not up to it at all, and we made everyone miserable.

But before it went south, we were flying high.

We got sticks in our shoe.

And then on our booty.

So…no shoes!

This was pure contentment.

Silliness personified.

Crazy girl…

Still Sick

Thursday, February 16, 2017

Selah Juney still wasn’t better, and I had meetings I had to attend. Jessica was nice enough to keep her while her kids were at her grandmother’s so that no more kids came down with the plague. She wanted to wear her jammies. That was an easy thing to accommodate.

The day was so beautiful that I asked her to take a picture in front of the flowers.

These photos reveal her treasures. She found a baby headband in the car, a bucket in the yard, and a grey Honda driving up with a Mimi excited to see her.

The Plague

Tuesday, February 14, 2017

Selah June has RSV. This is not cool.

I stayed home for another day and looks like I’ll be staying home for the rest of the week. Yikes.

We spent some of our day on the front porch because it was absolutely beautiful. She wanted to take her blocks outside to build castles.

Does this little monkey look sick to you?

Don’t tell Daddy we were on the table.

A Very Blue Monday

Monday, February 13, 2017

Selah June is really really sick. We knew she wasn’t feeling good on Saturday, but we thought it was just a little cold. We took her to church on Sunday, but she progressively seemed more and more puny as the day wore on. She threw the biggest fit when we tried to get her in the car to go home, and by the time we got home she was a wipe out. Jeremy decided not to take her to Winston and Liam’s birthday party, but then seemed better after a nap. But that was a ruse.

She was up all night coughing until the point of throwing up. I stayed home from work to take care of this puny little munchkin.  ?
