I woke up to this little monkey next to me this morning. She’s doing great with potty training. I don’t even think it’s appropriate to call it “training” anymore. She is just a great kid who uses the potty all the time – even in the middle of the night.
Now the pattern is that she wakes up in the middle of the night, has to go potty, and then comes upstairs to crawl into bed with us. And honestly, as long as she is going to bed in her own bed at night, I don’t have a problem at all with her snuggling with me through the early hours of the morning. And let’s be real. She seeks out the human heater called Daddy, so I barely notice her there at all.
It’s always a challenge to leave school in the afternoons. She inevitably wants to play in the rocks, sit on the benches in the little garden, watch the people go in and out of the center, and just generally stalling because she knows it drives me nuts. I see all the other moms in the same exact boat, so at least I know I’m not alone.
in fact, I often try to embrace it. We sit out there together. We make small talk with the moms and kids. And we take pictures for entertainment – my entertainment mostly.
