Madison and Grandma came from Oklahoma to see us for Christmas!!!! Selah June and Mommy did some last minute shopping for finishing touches to the house and helped Grammy with stocking stuffers.
While we were waiting for Grammy and Grandpa to pick us up, we took some selfies on the porch.
While we were riding in the backseat of the Pilot, she started pretending to be asleep. “I sleeping. Don’t touch me.” We started saying “No!!! Wake up!! You’re not sleepy! Wake up!” She would laugh and squint her eyes open to see if we were still looking at her. It was a hoot.
After Linda and Madison arrived, we played for a few hours. Selah June LOVED having an adult cater to her every whim. Madison did “paints” with her. They brought an awesome finger painting set that used a clear gel that turned colors only when it was applied to the paper. I’m a BIG fan. Then they played in the toy room, Selah June made us a picnic to eat upstairs next to the bed in our room.
I took her to Tom and Kim’s for the extended family get together. She had a blast playing with the little kids and loved getting presents. We had spaghetti – a favorite shared by Satie Isabella and Selah Juney. Everyone thought it was hysterical to watch her put whole handfuls of noodles in her mouth at a time.
At one point, SJ had a poopy diaper, and the other kids made sure to tell me about it. I changed her right there in the room where they were all playing to avoid a core meltdown. Then, about an hour later, Jessica said “You know you put her diaper on inside out. She just peed, and it didn’t absorb any of it.” What? I know I’m crazy as a loon these days, but I also know I didn’t do THAT! Sure enough… they diaper was on inside out. The only explanation is that the girls decided to “change her diaper” and took her pull-ups off and put them back on inside out. Sheer craziness…
