So my sister is right. The way to keep your sanity with a little one is to get out of the house at least once every day. Wallowing around in dirt pit (my house) ain’t makin’ nobody happy. Momma ain’t happy. Selah June ain’t happy. Ain’t nobody happy.
I have no idea how my laundry gets so out of control every single day! It’s as if Selah June and I just spend the day having a fashion show while spewing on each outfit just for funsies. I think my whole wardrobe makes it through a cycle at least once a week. And still I can never find a clear pair of socks — for either of us!
And the dishes….. oh my word. How can we possible do a load of dishes at least once a day when I don’t have any time to cook or even get myself together enough to go out for food. I seem to subsist these days on protein bars and oatmeal, so how can I have a sink full of dishes and a countertop covered in pots and pans ALL THE TIME??!!??
Whatever.
So Grammy and I tried to live up to Abigail’s standard of excellence and went “out” for the afternoon. And where did we choose to spend our time? The WORST place on the face of the planet to spend time the weekend before Christmas — Walmart. But Selah June was awesome. She fully enjoyed being out and about, mingling among the people, taking in all the crazy that is the Walmart. I have no idea when I will have a spare hand to use the gift tags and tape I purchased, but I do know that two good drinks at Sonic and a trip to Walmart helped me stay sane today. That’s gotta be worth something!
