Our “River Cruise” and Our Run In With the Wild

Michelle and Kinley were in town this weekend for Kinley’s 40th birthday. The whole gang planned to meet at Adventures Unlimited and start down the river at 10:00. We got there but had to wait on a whole bunch of people. Jeremy took Selah June to the playground, and within minutes they were back with SJ beside herself in tears.

Apparently, there was a bee hive somewhere around the playground, and about 10 bees swarmed SJ when she invaded their space.

And then we were in the middle of nap time trying to start down the river. Needless to say it was a long day.

But Selah June learned a country song and decided she wants her birthday party at the cabins by the river. So I guess it was a success…?

What Really Matters…

Selah June: Mommy, what kind of fish is Dory?

Me: I can look that up. Hold on…

Google: Dory is a royal blue tang.

Me: She is a royal blue tang.

Selah June: So she is the queen of the fishes?

Me: What?

Selah June: Is she the queen of the fishes? Why is she royal blue?

Me: OHHH! Why is royal blue called royal blue. I can look that up. Hold on.

Google: Royal blue is a rich blue worn by Queen Catherine and King William IV.

Me: It’s royal blue because it was the color worn by royalty – Kong’s and queens.

Selah June: So was I right? She’s the queen of the fishes….
