Makin’ a Splash
February 6, 2015
Selah June loves to splash and splash and kick her legs in the bath. We are using our whale tub (one of three we were given…. Apparently, whale tubs are really popular baths and really popular to pass along).
Her cheek was really really red this morning. It calmed down, so I’m thinking she just scratched herself or something. Her back on the other hand is covered with some new eczema. Ugh…. The Aquaphor is working, but I guess we’ll just have to use it in more places.
Workin’ 9 to 5
January 4, 2015
Selah June had to take a trip to work with Mommy today. Grammy has church orchestra on Wednesday, and so I try to pick SJ up by 3:30. At about 2:45, Dean Brown asked that I meet with him at 4:00 to review the agenda for Chairs Meeting. It was gross outside, but I knew Lori would love to hold and snuggle her while we met for a little bit.
Lori’s a pro! Though Selah June is a little sensitive right now, she warmed right up to Lori. They walked and talked around the building. Lori sang songs, and SJ cooed and snuggled. By the time I got done, Selah June was happily asleep.
4 Month Regression
January 3, 2015
Oh my word. We are in the middle of some kind of phase….
For the last several days, we’ve been up multiple times a night with Miss Selah June. Apparently, she’s in a developmental stage where she’s developing REM sleep. She’s transitioning from being a newborn who sleeps off and on all the time to being an infant who takes a few set naps a day and then sleeps like a champ at night. We’re not there yet, but that’s supposed to be where we’re headed.
Right now, we’re neither here nor there. We’re in the frustrating middle. She’s not sleeping well during the day, and she’s not sleeping well at night. But she’s awfully cute when she wakes up! It’s hard to be upset at 2am when you get to spend time with such a cute bear.
Flippin’ Mad
February 5, 2015
Apparently Selah June can flip herself over. We haven’t seen her in action, but Jeremy found her this morning flipped over on her back. Lots of tummy time must be paying off!
She’s also been crying every day when I leave her at Mom’s. Though she loves Grammy’s house, it makes her mad for me to leave. Ugghhhh….. Like it wasn’t already hard enough.
Ladies Night
January 31, 2015
Jeremy kept Selah June so that I could go to dinner with Mom and Ab and then attend Ab’s concert — Mozart’s Requiem at First Baptist. This is the picture I got while I was waiting for the concert to start. What kind of face is that? And BTW, the axe murderer just came through the door behind you.
