From Now Until Forever

October 4, 2014

Selah June is wrapped in the loving arms of her daddy from now until forever.  He’s struggling already with the thought of her dating, going to college, wanting to marry, facing the world.  We wondered if we would ever become parents, and then it caught us unawares.  From husband and friend to father, the change happened in a single day.

Jeremy is the father I knew he could be and spent sleepless nights wondering if he would be.  He worries over her faces, bounces her through her crying spells, and swaddles her through her mommy’s naps.  He shops for the right diapers and baths, cooks to feed his girls, and cleans to keep me from thinking about it.  He is the man I married and the father Selah June deserves.  He loves her from now until forever.

What a Wonderful Week It Has Been

Just one week ago, we were at the hospital anxiously awaiting the arrival of Selah June.  Jeremy and I can hardly believe that she has been in our lives for a whole week!  With sleepless nights and homebound days, you would think that it would feel like an eternity.

But it doesn’t.

It is flying by us as we take in every coo, every little yawn, every stinky diaper, and every curious glance.  We marvel at her.
