The girls had a wonderful day together. They played with Selah June’s new instruments. The bells were a big hit with P and SJ but not so much with the adults…
Then I went with Jamie, Stacie, and Penelope to the beach while Jeremy and Selah June napped.
The beach was beautiful. It was a little cool and overcast, but the water was wonderful. Penelope had a blast.
After dinner, we had a birthday party for these two special ladies. Once again, SJ was not really into the cake. She really doesn’t like the feeling of icing — not on her fingers and definitely not on her face.
We can’t wait to dress SJ up in her OU cheerleader outfit for Saturday football. We’re already working on saying “football.” Dad, of course, wants us to work on “Go Gators!” She also got a little piano that plays musical notes, songs, and sounds. And she got a dinosaur ball popper. She’s still warming up to that one. It scared her a little bit at first.
Penelope got a My Little Pony play set and a game. We took her on Monday to Build a Bear to pick out, “build,” and dress an animal of her choice.
Pretty fun day for two little ladies.

Jamie, Stacie, and Penelope drove all the way from Oklahoma to spend time with us at the beach in Sandestin. We are super excited that they took time off to come see us.
We drove from Pensacola over to Sandestin after work and ate at Jim & Nick’s for BBQ dinner. Penelope had a lovely flower tiara, and Selah June was happy as a clam to play “Boo!” with her while the adults chowed down on some much needed grub.

Selah June makes the most out of her little room. She finds and destroys all snippets of order. All books on bookshelves must come down. All rings on cones must come off. All puzzles pieces must come out. All blankets in her crib must be pulled through the slats. All pegs in the hammer toy must come out. It’s some kind of OCD that’s the opposite of being a clean freak. She’s OCD about everything being messy.
And she’s also a little OCD about having something in both of her hands while she crawls. It’s pretty cute. Right now, the travel buddies of choice are hand bells.

We got all kinds of new toys for our birthday. It’s hard to decide what to play with. The good thing about our new toys is that they will all grow with us for a while.

Miss Priss had her 12 mo. doctor’s appointment. She had to have 4 shots. It was not a good morning. Grammy was ready to make everything better once we got to her house. Here is the fun activity Selah June got to enjoy all by herself. Somebody likes STICKERS!!!

Selah June got several presents for her birthday. We’ve been teaching her how to use each one of them. Grammy and Grandpa got her a huge interactive Elmo. She definitely loves Elmo, but this one is a little different. He talks and laughs and sings and tells her to do stuff. It didn’t take her long to turn the tides on Elmo. Who’s the boss now??!!
