Front Porch Funniness

Tuesday, January 31, 2017

Selah June and I spent a lovely evening together enjoying the crisp evening on our porch and making silly faces and sounds.

She still loves being outside. Grammy and Grandpa bought us a fire bowl for our front porch for Christmas, but we still haven’t had the time and energy to assemble it. Maybe Jeremy is finally starting to be on the upward swing with this whole foot thing. One can only hope.

A Day Off For Some But Not All

Monday, January 30, 2017

Jeremy had Monday off. I had originally planned to taken Monday off and rally everyone to go to the beach, but then life got in the way. Even now, a look at my schedule shows very little but masks a whole lot of stuff.  Lots and lots of random stuff.

To have some semblance of quality time with the little monkey, we rallied the troops to go to the trampoline park instead. And we found out that afternoons during the week are great times for Sky Zone. There were practically no other kids there at all. The cousins all jumped to their hearts’ content across every square without regard for others at all.

evey time she goes to the park, she’s jumping a little different. It’s crazy how quickly they change. Right now, she’s jumping much better but she just jumps with her knees right in front of her. It’s pretty funny. I’m going to try to upload a video.

Turf Wars

Sunday, January 29, 2017

We went with Mom and Dad to Newk’s on Sunday after church. Selah June looked super cute in some striped pink tights, a pink dress with silver leopard print, and a little cardigan. At the restaurant, I cornered her in the booth, and she found a window nook to store her crackers and croutons.

All was going well until some other customers sat in the booth behind us. She thought for a moment about moving her stuff back to the table, but then reclaimed her space with subtle encroachment.

She then discovered Jeremy’s sandwich and unabashedly told him she was going to “share.” She’s really good at “sharing” other people’s food.

Quality Time

Friday, January 27, 2017

Grammy and Grandpa had a play date with Selah Juney on Friday. Jeremy and I had a couple’s massage and then spent time together (searching for blue blanky).

SJ read Bible stories with Grammy, went to Target with Grandpa, and played with all the toys from the toy room.

We got a text message from them with pictures of her in a Spider-Man hoodie. We were informed that she is NOT spider girl. She’s Spider-Man!

Snuggle Bear

Wednesday, January 25, 2017

I woke up to this sleeping beauty this morning.  She’s been waking up in the middle of the night and crying for her daddy to come get her. Of course he does, and then we toss and turn in a heap of blankets until the break of dawn.

But I’m not complaining….(yet)

Shoe Silliness

Monday, January 24, 2017

Look at that mess!  She absolutely LOVES walking around in my most fabulous shoes. I can’t keep her out of my closet. And she’s really coordinated. She puts on the highest of heels and struts around like she owns the place (which, of course, she does).

The light was really pretty as I was leaving the office this afternoon. I had to take a picture.

Sunday Sunshine

Sunday, January 22, 2017

We all got ready for church this morning, and Selah June and Mommy looked super cute in their coordinating grey and black.  Very modern/chic.

SJ got ahold of one of my necklaces somewhere along the way and started having a blast twirling it around and around. She didn’t want to wear shoes, and I didn’t want to fight over it. She was the one kid in the nursery who looked like a little ragamuffin.

When we got home I noticed for the first time this amazing tree in our yard, and while I was at it I took a picture of our front porch with the camellias in bloom.

And here’s a fish.

Getting Our Hair Did

Friday, January 19, 2017

Selah Juney loves her new school. Each of her teachers is special for a different reason. Miss Kiki does all of the girls’ hair every day. SJ comes home with different hairstyles that have somehow managed to stay in place, but the first thing she does when she gets out of the building is yank the hair band out (no matter how hard she has to pull on it). We’re dealing with an incredibly high pain tolerance and degree of independence/stubbornness with this little one.

Bath Babblings

Tuesday, January 17, 2017

Selah June cherishes her baths. I think they relax her, and she likes to play in the water. It’s become our ritual at about 7:00 every night. For Christmas she got some foam letters and numbers meant for the bathtub, and she has fun organizing them by color or all on one side of the tub and then moving them all back into the water or her bucket.

Tonight for whatever reason she was wanting me to take her picture. As of late, that has not been something I could do EVER!!!

im taking her bath time as a great opportunity to ritualistically wash my face.  It’s a win for everybody.

Unless she poops.
